Halo: Infinite is the sixth entry in Master Chief‘s story. After the fan outrage towards Halo 5: Guardians, 343 Industries seems to have listened to complaints and criticisms, and seem to be putting fans first with this game that has raised the hopes of Halo fans.
But what do we know about the game? Here is everything we know about Halo: Infinite.
The newest addition to the gameplay is the new grappling-hook mechanic. It’s used for grabbing weapons and items and even grappling onto enemies as well. The mechanic seems to be inspired by Doom Eternal‘s similar grappling-hook mechanic.
Another new feature is that Halo: Infinite will have an open world, as opposed to the linear structure of previous Halo installments. It’s unknown whether the game will include things like side quests or collectibles scattered around the open world, but it’s safe to assume as much. The open world is said to include a day-to-night cycle and wildlife. These features seem pulled from early ideas that were considered all the way back in the development of Halo: Combat Evolved.
Split screen has been confirmed for Infinite, as it was notably absent from Halo 5: Guardians. Fan outcry is almost certainly the reason for its return.
343 Industries has also stated that they have no plans to include a battle royale mode for the multiplayer.
It’s still unclear whether or not there will be micro transactions in the game. It was confirmed, however, that there would be no more loot boxes.
It doesn’t seem to appear that a sequel to Infinite will becoming for possibly another 10 years. The developers have said they plan on adding onto and building up this game for the foreseeable future.
Forge is coming confirmed to be coming to Halo: Infinite. It’s actually being developed by Skybox, who worked previously on Halo 5: Guardians enhancements for the Xbox One X. It’s still not known what new and returning features will be in Infinite‘s Forge mode.
Every Halo sequel introduces new weapons, and this game is no exception.
