Disney+ Releases Comic-Con@Home Panel Schedule

Major shifts have occurred in pop culture circles as a result of COVID-19, from comic book shops shutting down and closing to DC Comics splitting from Diamond Distributors. Conventions have also felt the full brunt of the pandemic, with shows big and small across the world canceling and rescheduling for 2021.

For the first time its in long history, San Diego Comic Con will not be happening. In its place is Comic Con@Home, an event that combines all the fun and traditional aspects of the convention, to be experienced from the comfort of one’s home.

Disney+ will have a presence there as well, with three different virtual panels throughout the weekend, showcasing upcoming content for the streaming platform that promise excitement and enjoyment for fans.

The panels vary in terms of content. “Marvel’s 616” (Thursday, July 23, 1:00 p.m. PT) will include a look into the various documentaries about Marvel’s long history of storytelling and characters that are set to be part of an anthology series on Disney+. For fans of the beloved cartoon Phineas and Ferb, get ready for something special: a look at the upcoming film “Phineas and Ferb the Movie: Candace Against the Universe” (Saturday, July 25, 12:00 p.m. PT) and a deep dive into the hit TV series.

For anyone who is a fan of original programming, the last panel is a major one. “The Right Stuff” (Saturday, July 25, 1:00 p.m. PT), coming from National Geographic, will take a look at the early days of the US space program during the height of the Cold War. The panel will be lead by former NASA astronaut Dr. Mae Jemison, along with other cast members, including Michael Trotter, Shannon Lucio, Patrick J. Adams and Eloise Mumford.

So while the world may still be shut down, pop culture fans of all ages can get ready for this first experience from one of the most famous conventions ever–a firsthand look at a variety of unique and brand new content from Disney+, all for free and all without even having to leave the house. Get ready for Comic-Con@Home, because it is almost here and no one will want to miss it.
