“Fantastic Four”(2015) director Josh Trank unwilling to remake his movie

Superhero fans have rejoiced finally hearing confirmation from Zack Snyder‘s that his cut of Justice League has got the greenlight for production. The ‘Snyder Cut’ will feature reshoots and should be finished and released on HBO Max in 2021.

Some fans wondered what other superhero director’s could get another chance(or get the chance they deserve) to create the movie they originally envisioned. Could David Ayers of Suicide Squad be a suitor for a remake? Wouldn’t it be awesome to see Edgar Wright’s version Ant-Man? Josh Trank‘s Fantastic Four definitely sounded better than what we got.

Despite the constant speculation in the superhero community, the Fantastic Four reboot director, Josh Trank, has stated that he is not interested in remaking the superhero squadron for film.

While Trank jokingly used #ReleaseTheTrankCut years ago, recent tweets have confirmed that there will not be a ‘Trank Cut’ or at least Trank’s version being released.

After a fan tweeted suggesting the idea of a director “do-over”, Trank immediately responded with “No need”. Trank then followed up with a confirmation after Comic Book Resources wrote the article on the thread stating “Yeah……No thank you”.

Trank wrote a self-burn like review on his Fantastic Four on the app-Letterboxd. While it is funny to see Trank give himself two stars, he did allude that many of the changes to the movie were not his fault but he’d “save it for another time” according to his review.

Actor Toby Kebbell stated that Trank “cut a great film that you’ll never see. That is a shame. A much darker version, and you’ll never see it.”
