The surprises for the new season of Doctor Who just keep coming! In addition to the return of Missy from season 8, BBC announced that Maisie Williams (Game of Thrones) is scheduled for a guest appearance.
Showrunner Steven Moffat had this to say about Williams’ character:
“she is going to challenge the Doctor in very unexpected ways. This time he might just be out of his depth, and we know Maisie is going to give him exactly the right sort of hell.”
Williams has proven herself time and again as the spitfire character Arya in Game of Thrones. We can be sure to expect attitude overload between Peter Capaldi’s Doctor and whoever Williams’ character turns out to be. Doctor Who is known and loved for it’s frequent guest appearances, and I’m excited that the tradition is continuing. Fandoms unite!
