Now, I know what you’re thinking:
“Didn’t the Guardians off Ronan entirely? As in, he’s in hundreds (if not billions) of itty-bitty, very dead pieces of scary, vengeful Kree?”
In all appearances and for all purposes, yes, the Guardians made sure he and his accusing ways were blown to smithereens by way of one unforgiving Infinity Stone. Very true.
But as the actor mentioned in an interview with IGN:
“I love the character. I’d love to play him again. Who knows?”
Who knows, indeed, Mr. Pace. While at this point Ronan the Accuser’s resurrection seems more than unlikely, when you’re presented with an upcoming sequel (series?), a brilliant director, and an actor who’d like to return, anything could really happen. The magic is for the filmmakers to make and for us to sit back and watch.
Since Ronan was such an enjoyable character that many comic book fans felt went before his time, I hope for Lee Pace’s and the fans’ sakes that director James Gunn can search out an exploitable loophole to enable the villain’s return.
