A few months back, Liam Neeson was quoted saying he would love to appear on The CW’s ARROW as none other than Ra’s Al Ghul. While the internet went crazy over his remarks, The CW quickly revealed their casting for the character and spoilers, it wasn’t Neeson. This quick turn around led many to assume that The CW didnt bother with Neeson at all, or his comments were just made in jest, but turns out they weren’t.
Mark Pedowitz, president of The CW, recently told BuzzFeed that after Neeson’s remarks they quickly reached out to him to see if he would actually be willing:
“We never thought he would, we quickly went to him, just on the off-chance that he had the time to do it.”
Long story short, it turns out scheduling was the biggest stumbling block that they couldn’t get out of their way. Although both parties were willing and wanted to do it, their schedules couldn’t match up to allow it to work.
