[Rumor] Jason Momoa Confirmed (Again) to Play Aquaman
In the past, we’ve reported several times about the rumor that Game of Throne‘s Jason Momoa will play Aquaman in an upcoming DC project. Even though Momoa has denied the rumor several times, the rumor keeps popping up. And since we haven’t heard anything about it in about a month, it seems time for the hearsay to rise again.
Hitfix is reporting that not only has Jason Momoa been confirmed to play the king of Atlantis as a supporting role in Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice, but they know why the character is in the movie.
Reportedly, the film will touch on the consequences of the wanton destruction of Metropolis during Superman’s battle with Zod, which will enable Lex Luthor to paint Superman in a bad light. Aquaman, played by Jason Momoa, will supposedly also have some words to say to Superman about the destruction that the World Engine caused in the Indian Ocean. While this won’t be a big role, Aquaman’s screentime will set him up to reappear in Justice League.
And still, these are just rumors. There has not been an official statement on the matter, and Hitfix’s Drew McWeeny seems to think we may not see an official announcement about the character until the film releases.
Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice is set to release May 6th, 2016.
