Star Wars: Episode VII is returning to Tatooine

What did Luke Skywalker do after helping overthrow the Galactic Empire? No, he didn’t go to Disney Land. It sounds like he just went home.

Recent reports from THR are indicating that Disney and Star Wars: Episode VII director J.J. Abrams are preparing to build “an extensive recreation” of Tatooine, the desert home world of Luke and his father Anakin Skywalker.

The reports are also indicating that the new set will be built in a “Morocco-like environment.” Which many already know that the original Tatooine set was built with Tunisia in mind.

While very little else was revealed, it was noted that previous reports were true and the film is indeed already filming its principal photography and the cast is near completed for its official filming.

Star Wars Episode VII is currently set for a December 2015 release.
