Today Sony revealed the PlayStation Vita TV, which is essentially a PSVita that you plug into your TV.
The device will go on sale in Japan on November 14 for 9,954 yen making it around $100. PlayStation Vita TV is basically Sony’s answer to the Ouya, where it plays all PSVita games (as well as all the other functionality that the PSVita has such as PSP and PSOne games). The device supports HDMI hook up and has a side port where you can load games through a Vita card slot or from the device’s memory card slot.
Like the new Vita, PlayStation Vita TV has a built in 1 GB of memory and can play games using a DualShock 3 controller, and supports up to two DualShock controllers for multiplayer use.
The most enticing feature of all however is that it is also PS4 remote play compatible, where you can also use remote play to stream a PlayStation 4 game to a TV in a different room. Basically making your PS4 playable anywhere in your house if you have enough of these set up to it. That feature alone makes the device worthwhile for current PSVita owners.
