Is Ben Affleck also going to help write Batman/Superman?

In a recent article posted by IndieWire they imply that Actor Ben Affleck will be assisting in the writing of the upcoming Batman/Superman film, and to prove their point out they turn to what was stated in the official the press rlease:

 “Affleck and filmmaker Zack Snyder will create an entirely new incarnation of the character.”

Its no secret that Affleck is a good writer. With films such as The Town, Gone Baby Gone, and Good Will Hunting under his belt (with Good Will Hunting even landing him an Acamedy Award) Affleck has proven that he has it where it counts.

What is interesting most of all is that he passed up directing Man Of Steel for DC/WB:

The one benefit of having done all kinds of movies as an actor is, you learn the pros and cons of being tempted to do a really big movie because it costs a lot of money. With “Superman”, I think they’re going to do a great version. Christopher Nolan is brilliant and they’ve got a great director for it. … Also there are a lot of guys ahead of me on the list to do epic effects movies.

I’d love to do [direct] something like Blade Runner , but a lesson I’ve learned is to not look at movies based on budget, how much they’ll spend on effects, or where they will shoot. Story is what’s important.

As noted in his reponse to why he passed up Man Of Steel, “Story is whats important,” and many fans critizism of Man of Steel was because of its lack of story depth, so with Affleck possibly helping Snyder and Goyer, itseems that Batman/Superman just may be up to the quality of film that fans are hoping for.
