A few weeks back it was revealed that actor William Fichtner would be playing the Iconic TMNT Villain The Shredder in the upcoming film, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Since then speculation has run rampant about which version of ht character Fichtner would be playing, and now thanks to ScreenRant, turns out we all were wrong.
“I actually play a guy named Eric Sachs [Sounds like Sachs? Hard to understand] in the movie. And then he goes through a few stages in his existence.
But Turtles is coming together very, very cool. There is a whole interesting dynamic that happens in the world of Turtles and all I can really say about it at this point while working on it is that the Turtle film, it’s not like anything that I remember about the Turtles before. I feel like this Michael Bay-produced movie is just gonna really be something else. I’m pretty excited.”
When asked if Eric will be Japanese, Fichtner replied:
“You know, uh, you know I think it would be much more exciting to find out these things as it unfolds.”
So there you have it. While he was pretty vague on the details, its likely that this incarnation of The Shredder is not in fact Oroko Saki, but only time will tell with what is really going on with this character.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is set to hit US theaters Next Year on June 6th, 2014.
