[E3 2013] Why is the PS4 priced at $399? Because the PSEye is sold separatly

It was revealed last night along with the tech specs of the device that the upcoming PS4 attachment the PlayStation Eye camera is not included in the box along with the console, it will in fact be sold separately for $59 in North America (£44 in the U.K. and €49 in Europe).

While obviously this is not sole factor in the significant price difference between the two consoles, it is interesting to note that unlike the Xbox One, PlayStation is not requiring their camera for use, and the attachment is quire literally entirely optional.
