At the recent Final Fantasy 25th Anniversary Celebration (via Gematsu), Square Enix CEO Yoichi Wada finally commented on when fans can expect to see Final Fantasy Versus XIII:
When it reaches the level where it gives you that nostalgic, “this is Final Fantasy!” feeling, I want to show it to everyone.
The conclusion of another event (one comparing concerns that recent Final Fantasy games seem to have be catered to feel more like western Sci-Fi and commenting that they plan to make the future series possibly feel more Japanese) saw Hajime Tabata mentioning Final Fantasy Versus XIII‘s development, which was followed by a message that said:
“Tetsuya Nomura wanted to give the message that he’ll soon show the future of Final Fantasy.”
While its still unclear if that message meant the final debut of Final Fantasy Versus XIII or the announcement of another game, its still nice to know that Square Enix is still working hard at giving fans a game that is worth such a long and strong hype.
