Earlier this year at E3, Sony broke the news that the PSVita would be getting support to be able to play PSOne Classic games later this summer. While at Gamescon last week, they finally confirmed the date for this long awaited update.
The announcement has reveled that August 28th 2012 is the set release date for the update, however, the announcement did reveal what many had been speculating since its initial reveal, that not all PSOne Classics will be available to play on the PSVita right away, and that the games will be gradually rolled out into compatibility over a period of time.
Final Fantasy VII and Tomb Raider were two of the titles that were mentioned and confirmed during Sony’s Gamescom announcement.
