PSVita Firmware 1.80 Adds Support For PsOne Classics

First announced at E3 that Sony would be updating the firmware for the PSVita to finally play PsOne Classics, it was announced that the update will come with the upcoming Firmware 1.80 update.

However, SCEJ says the firmware update will be released sometime this summer. Just like at E3, no date has been set.

Currently the USA has our Vita’s firmwares at Firmware 1.69. Which depending on how Sony will release them could mean that either we get a ton of updates all at once, or the PsOne Classic update will be coming state side near the tail end of summer.

Either way, when it does I’m going to have a huge afternoon of putting all my favorite games on my Vita.
