The site BleedingCoo<\/a>l also recently caught up with Man Of Steel scribe David Goyer and in their conversation with him they actually got him talking about his plans, fears, and concerns that he has going into a potential Man Of Steel sequel.<\/p>\n

*Warning Possible Spoilers below*<\/p>\n

Chris [Nolan] was very clear that the Dark Knight trilogy exists in its own finite universe. But e<\/em>verybody is aware that it was Warner\u2019s intention there would be some kind of shared universe.<\/em><\/p>\n

I believe I wrote a Lexcorp easter egg into the script and we mentioned STAR Labs at one point, which some comic book readers will be aware of. Zack slipped in the Wayne Industries satellite and I first saw that in the rough cut.<\/em><\/p>\n

The challenge for us moving forward is how to depict Superman in a world like this, in a world where Twitter exists, in a world with social media. To me, the interesting challenge is \u201cCould he solve hunger in the horn of Africa? What would he do with the Arab Spring? What would he do in Syria?\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Partly you could argue \u201cHow could he not intervene in something like the situation in Syria?\u201d but the other argument is \u201cIs it a hornet\u2019s nest if her intervenes? Does he have the wherewithal or the knowledge to intervene in something like this?\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

To me, that\u2019s the interesting challenge. It\u2019s easier for Batman because he just exists in this little pocket of the world, he\u2019s not violating sovereign airspace every day.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

There is musing about Lex Luthor, conversations that Zack and I have had on set, but it all depends on what happens over the next month. There are obviously those Lexcorp easter eggs in the film and clearly you can see from that, to the extent to which we can intuit things about Lex, it\u2019s not the Gene Hackman version. This is a Bill Gates-like Lex that is probably worth 50, 60, 70 billion dollars. It\u2019s a very different Lex.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

David Goyer goes on to say that when talking about the lack of a Clark Kent disguise or alias in the primary parts of the film, its created a problem that could easily result in a large number of people knowing that Clark Kent is Kal-El\/Superman:<\/p>\n

In our minds there are people in Smallville who know Superman\u2019s secret as well [as Lois], Pete Ross seems to know, there\u2019s probably a couple dozen people who know and we thought it would be interesting if they\u2019re protective of him.<\/em><\/p>\n

<\/em>We were able to sidestep the issue of the ludicrous glasses disguise in this film but going forwards, we\u2019re going to find ourselves in a sticky wicket.\u00a0<\/em>Zack and I have definitely talked about \u201cOkay, hmm, this will be interesting.\u201d Clearly Perry White and Steve Lombard see Lois kissing Superman at the end of the film. Perry\u2019s not an idiot. Moving forward, he\u2019s probably going to say to Lois \u201cWhat\u2019s up with that?\u201d We\u2019re definitely going to have to go through some story gymnastics.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

While its nice to see that they are not oblivious to the already known idea and notion that Superman’s alter-ego\/disguise presents a wide variety of problems, its going to be very interesting to see how they decide to address it. Personally, I wouldn’t mind the acknowledgement of members of the Daily Planet Staff knowing in sort of a way that Morgan Freeman’s Lucius Fox knew Batman was Bruce Wayne.<\/p>\n
