To this comparison Synder states:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cWhether that\u2019s completely true or not, I don\u2019t know, but you want it to be true. You feel like it could be true, and it\u2019s intimidating to say, \u2018We\u2019re going to take on the \u201cS\u201d and we\u2019re going to make it live again.\u2019\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Snyder then goes on to explain the level of gravity that the character of Superman has.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cIn the comic-book universe, you have all these sort of minor celebrities that have been put up as the end-all, be-all, and then you have the fallen king who\u2019s sadly relegated to the shadows. It\u2019s cool to resurrect him and say, \u2018Understand that this is the granddaddy of all superheroes.\u2019\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cIt\u2019s the most realistic movie I\u2019ve made, There\u2019s no tongue in anyone\u2019s cheek. I\u2019m not apologizing for <\/em><em>Superman in any way. I\u2019m saying, \u2018Superman is a thing that must be taken seriously and embraced and understood.\u2019\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Finally addressing the overall tone of the character being portrayed, he does reveal something that is going to be very different about Superman this time around.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cWe tried not to make him so predictably morally black and white, we gave him some shades of gray. His inherent goodness is still there, and if you really think about it, you still want him to be right and to make the right choices and to do the right thing. I think that we all hope for that in ourselves, and I think that\u2019s what always has made him a very interesting character. He\u2019s a Christlike figure.
