Empire Online<\/a> recently caught up with actor Ryan Reynolds while promoting his current animated family film, The Croods<\/em><\/strong>, and got the actor talking about X-Men and more specifically the topic of Deadpool.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

<\/div>\n
They started off the round of questions with asking if he would be interested in making a cameo appearance as Deadpool in the upcoming X-Men: Days of Future Past, the actor responded with:<\/div>\n

“I love that kind of stuff,<\/b> I loved doing Wolverine ’cause the movie wasn’t on my shoulders. I got to kind of come in and insult everybody. It was a lot of fun actually.”<\/b><\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

He later would go on to reiterate that he feels the script for Deadpool is“Nearly NC-17”<\/em><\/strong> in terms of its content and tone, but would then expand on his statements by adding:<\/p>\n

“[The Deadpool script has] got a similar tone [to Zombieland], almost. They wrote it and they developed it as well and, you know, it\u2019s sitting there. You could do it for a pittance compared to the modern sort of epic scale superhero movies, but it\u2019s about a guy who knows he\u2019s in a movie and knows he\u2019s in a comic book who is deeply mentally disturbed and hyper violent. And that\u2019s tough to get by a studio.”<\/em><\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

When asked whether or not the possible Deadpool film would somehow link up with the back story laid out in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Reynolds explained that he is equally as reluctant to have that happen.<\/p>\n

“I don\u2019t think you can do that, because that character would really sully that whole world. The script is one rewrite away from Deadpool jumping across the desk at the studio executive and attacking him.”<\/b><\/em><\/p>\n

“But I\u2019ve always wanted to do the movie just if only because Deadpool would get to do his own movie trailer. So that\u2019s a thing that we were dying to do and we would love to be a part of that. I don\u2019t know how it would fit though, no. In the current iteration of the script, it doesn\u2019t address Wolverine \u2013 though it does address Deadpool\u2019s appearance in Wolverine. Deadpool was not happy with Deadpool in Wolverine. He has a sort of a WTF!? moment with that.”

Now while its wonderful to hear the actor feels that they want to stay extremely faithful to the character, like I addressed yesterday<\/a> that level of commitment doesn’t bode well with Fox<\/strong> and how they handle their X-Men<\/em><\/strong> properties. But maybe, just maybe, with all the success of Kick-Ass<\/strong><\/em>, and possibly with how Kick-Ass 2<\/em><\/strong> turns out, it is possible that this film just may see the light of day.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
