{"id":6474,"date":"2012-11-06T14:31:36","date_gmt":"2012-11-06T22:31:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wakingideas.com\/blog\/?p=6474"},"modified":"2012-11-06T14:31:36","modified_gmt":"2012-11-06T22:31:36","slug":"upcoming-show-beware-the-batman-gets-a-few-promo-art-updates-plus-some-villain-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/theculturednerd.org\/?p=6474","title":{"rendered":"Upcoming show &#8220;Beware The Batman&#8221; gets a few promo art updates, plus some villain news"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-6475\" title=\"21\" src=\"http:\/\/wakingideas.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/21.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Thanks to the <a href=\"http:\/\/dcwomenkickingass.tumblr.com\/post\/35013880802\/btbat\">Tumblr blog titled DC Women Kicking Ass<\/a>, fans are now able to see some promo art for the new and upcoming\u00a0 <strong>Cartoon Network<\/strong> CG animated series <strong><em>Beware The Batman<\/em><\/strong>, which is scheduled to finally begin airing in early 2013.<\/p>\n<p>The following images (which appear to be scans from an upcoming issue of the <strong>DC Nation magazine<\/strong>) give fans a first real look at some of the characters that&#8217;ll be included in the show.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Batman, Alfred, Katana,<\/strong> and the villains<strong> Professor Pyg<\/strong> and <strong>Mr. Toad<\/strong> are shown in the new art.<\/p>\n<p>Rumor seems to suggest that <strong><em>Beware The Batman<\/em><\/strong> will actually be a different animated take on<strong> Batman<\/strong> altogether, and with it comes the character taking on some lesser known villains alongside <strong>Alfred<\/strong> and his new sidekick <strong>Katana<\/strong>. It has also been announced that the characters <strong>Humpty<\/strong> and <strong>Metamorpho<\/strong> will also be seen in the series.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-6476 alignleft\" title=\"49872L\" src=\"http:\/\/wakingideas.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/49872L.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"646\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-6477 alignright\" title=\"49873L\" src=\"http:\/\/wakingideas.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/49873L.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"666\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The biggest catch from these images are included in <strong>Katana&#8217;s<\/strong> bio. The Bio revealed that along wtih being former CIA,\u00a0 she was a former member of the <strong>League of Assassins.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Which thanks to a nice reveal made a couple months ago, In an interview with Attack of the Show\u00a0 <strong>Lance Reddick<\/strong> (<strong><em>LOST, FRINGE<\/em><\/strong>) confirmed he will voice <strong>Ra&#8217;s Al Ghul<\/strong> in <strong><em>Beware The Batman<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>So despite the absence of <strong>Joker,<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Penguin<\/strong>, and <strong>Two-Face<\/strong>, fans will at the very least get ninjas and <strong>Ras Al Ghul.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>BEWARE THE BATMAN<\/em><\/strong> is coming to <strong>Cartoon Network<\/strong> in 2013 and stars <strong>Anthony Ruivivar<\/strong> as<strong> Batman, Sumalee Montano<\/strong> as <strong>Katana, J.B. Blanc<\/strong> as <strong>Alfred,<\/strong> and <strong>Kurtwood Smith<\/strong> as <strong>Lt.
