For years fans have been demanding that Marvel<\/strong> puts together a solid Dr. Strange<\/em><\/strong> movie, and even now we know that a Dr Strange<\/strong> is on Marvel’s to-do-list<\/strong> and has been put into serious consideration for some time now. But unfortunately, we haven’t seen much happen with it.<\/p>\n

Yet now, we have a huge rumor that has actually flown under most peoples radar for a good long while. The site The Playlist<\/a> had recorded a podcast a while back, focusing mostly on the current superhero movie line up, and touching base on what is in the future for the Genre. But in this podcast they do actually mention that they “might know something” about a certain “Master of the mystic arts<\/em>” (AKA Dr. Strange<\/strong>) playing a part in Thor: The Dark World<\/em><\/strong>, and unlike all the previous superhero crossover appearances, this one is not just a cameo appearance but a full one key role. Screenrant<\/a> later took this podcast and actually broke it down on their site:<\/em><\/p>\n

The Playlist claimed that Natalie Portman\u2019s character Jane Foster could be working alongside Dr. Strange in a similar capacity as she did with Stellan Skarsg\u00e5rd\u2019s Dr. Erik Selvig in the first film, and that Strange would be playing a big part in \u201call three acts\u201d of the film, as opposed to being relegated to a cameo-type introduction. He would play a scientist (he\u2019s a genius neurosurgeon in the comics) and someone who\u2019s deeply interested in Foster\u2019s stories and knowledge about Asgard and Thor<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

What many did not realize however, was there was a very significant (yet very well hidden) reference to Dr. Strange<\/strong><\/em> in the first THOR<\/strong><\/em> film (once I point it out, go watch it and you’ll see for yourself), which is why this rumor seems to be so realistic.<\/p>\n

In the first THOR<\/strong> <\/em>if you watch the closely in pretty much any scene that shows ODIN’S TROPHY ROOM<\/strong> you can see this in the background:<\/p>\n

\"\" Now what makes this thing so significant is that in actuality its the Orb of Agamotto<\/strong>, the amulet that Dr Strange<\/strong> wears in the comics.<\/p>\n

According to Wikipedia<\/a>:<\/p>\n

The Orb of Agamotto<\/strong> is a fictional magical item in the Marvel Comicsuniverse. It is a powerful scryingcrystal ball owned and used by Doctor Strange for clairvoyance. It can also be used to detect magic in use anywhere in the world and provide Strange with a location and visual.<\/p>\n

The orb rests in Doctor Strange’s Sanctum Sanctorum in a room called the Chamber of Shadows. It usually is inside a display case with three curved legs. When summoned, the glass covering rises and the ball levitates.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Now its possible that the rumor is implying that Dr. Strange<\/strong> is going to use the ties Dr. Jane Foster<\/strong> has to Thor<\/strong> to gain access to the amulet, or it could simply imply that’s how they are going to explain how he gets it, either way it makes some very interesting implications for the upcoming film THOR: The Dark World<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n
