Like it or not, X-Men Origins: Wolverine<\/em><\/strong> did make some money, and enough to merit a follow up. This time however, production and the cast seem to be a little dead set on correcting the mistakes of the last film.\u00a0 James Mangold<\/strong>\u2018s The Wolverine<\/em><\/strong> is shooting now with Hugh Jackman<\/strong> reprising the title role, this film marks his fifth appearance as the Wolverine<\/strong> (Or the sixth, if you count the cameo from X-Men First Class<\/em><\/strong>.) The upcoming film has been scripted by Christopher McQuarrie<\/strong>, and is based on one of the most iconic storylines that wolverine had in the comics, a Chris Claremont<\/strong> and Frank Miller<\/strong> series that saw “Wolverine<\/strong> in Japan<\/strong> trying to wrangle his affections for a young woman whose father doesn\u2019t exactly accept the gaijin<\/em><\/strong> suitor”.<\/p>\n

Now Jackman<\/strong> has even commented<\/a> on the general approach to the film, while some take this has the lead actor just talking highly of one of his upcoming films, like most actors do, what he does say is what seems to have the fans a little more happy:<\/p>\n

We\u2019ve deliberately not called it Wolverine 2 because we want it to be placed and feel like a standalone picture. With an all-new cast and setting it in Japan, it\u2019s going to give us a whole new visual aesthetic. The approach to character means we won\u2019t be overloaded with mutants and teams and the like, so it\u2019ll be more character-based. I think in many ways it will feel like a completely different X-Men film.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The Wolverine<\/em> <\/strong>opens on July 26, 2013, and co-stars Will Yun Lee<\/strong>, Hiroyuki Sanada<\/strong>, Hal Yamanouchi<\/strong>, Tao Okamoto<\/strong>, Rila Fukushima<\/strong> and Brian Tee<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
