Deadline<\/a> has broken the news that actor Christopher Eccleston<\/strong> has been cast as the villain in Marvel Studios\u2019 Thor<\/em><\/strong> sequel, Thor: The Dark World<\/strong><\/em>. Speculation states that he is replacing the actor Mads Mikkelsen<\/strong> in the role that the actor stated he couldn’t play due to time restrictions.<\/p>\n

The actor is best known for his sci-fi role as the ninth Doctor Who<\/strong> or his role as Destro<\/strong> in GIJOE: The Rise of Cobra<\/em><\/strong>, will indeed be playing the long rumored character and Dark Elf Ruler, Malekith The Accursed<\/strong>. This now confirming the rumors that the dark elves would be playing a major role in the film.<\/p>\n
