A recent interview in Famitsu<\/a> with with FFXIII<\/strong><\/em> and XIII-2<\/strong><\/em> director Motomu Toriyama<\/strong> at the recent Taipai Game Developers Conference<\/strong> some light was shed on the future of the game.<\/p>\n

The site asked if we can expect something Final Fantasy XIII<\/strong><\/em> related at the upcoming Final Fantasy 25th Anniversary event<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Toriyama replied;<\/p>\n

“The [FFXIII-2] Lightning download content had an ending that left a feeling mystery and hope. The day when the meaning of this will come to light is not too far off.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

For those who dont know, The Final Fantasy 25th anniversary event<\/strong> is an upcoming art gallery event that will be held from August 31 through September 2 in Shibuya, Japan.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Regarding DLC in general, Toriyama<\/strong> seems to recognize that some fans do have issues with having to buy content separate from the main game disc. He’s traveled around the world and heard opinions of players, and some want all the content to be included directly on the game disc.<\/p>\n

“This poses a dilemma, said Toriyama, as development times will go up.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Outside of all future XIII<\/strong> developments, Toriyama<\/strong> made an interesting side-comment about Final Fantasy X.<\/em><\/strong> When asked for a progress report on the HD version of FFX<\/em>, Toriyama<\/strong> said,<\/p>\n

“Regarding HD conversions, there is a lot to look into, so please wait a bit more.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

While it is upsetting to me that it will indeed be open-ended for the time frame as of now, simply because the news of the FFX HD<\/strong> <\/em>edition was one of the huge selling points of the PSVita<\/strong> for me, its good to know progress is indeed being made. And hopefully this upcoming event in Japan<\/strong> is why nothing huge Final Fantasy<\/strong> related was shown at E3.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
