Initially posted by neogaf<\/a> as a rumor, twitter has revealed a few pics (here<\/a>, and here<\/a>) that may have confirmed its truth.<\/p>\n

According to the rumors posted by Neogaf, the game will be titled\u00a0Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation<\/strong><\/em> take place in the years of 1765 – 1780 (around the French and Indian War<\/strong>). The story will take place in New Orleans<\/strong> (and have no real connection to Desmond <\/strong>other than a possible cameo of AC3<\/strong> star Connor<\/strong>) and will also take players down to the Gulf and into Mexico.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The female assassin pictured above is rumored to be named Aveline<\/strong>, and although the story points are vague, it appears her mentor will be an escaped slave named Agate<\/strong>, who is the leader of the Assassin<\/strong>s in New Orleans<\/strong>. The site mentions gameplay dynamics that are specifically tailored for the PS Vita<\/strong>, and will feature “true Assassin’s Creed gameplay”, unlike any of the other handheld attempts. The game will also feature a similar wildlife interactions as found in AC3<\/strong> (the latest trailer showed Connor<\/strong> being confronted by a wild Bear) with the Vita<\/strong> counterpart will be tackling wildlife creatures like alligators who “hide beneath murky waters.”<\/p>\n

However, according to the site, rumors are saying that\u00a0 the game has been released as a “propaganda tool by Abstergo<\/strong>, who want players to experience a gray area of the Assassin\/Templar<\/strong> conflict as an Assassin<\/strong> rather than a Templar<\/strong>.”<\/p>\n

All things considered, I am extremely excited for this, and hopefully the rumors are true, and we get a real confirmation of its existence later this week at E3<\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
