{"id":44052,"date":"2024-09-19T10:54:19","date_gmt":"2024-09-19T17:54:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/theculturednerd.org\/?p=44052"},"modified":"2024-09-19T10:55:40","modified_gmt":"2024-09-19T17:55:40","slug":"sequel-to-the-passion-may-be-around-the-corner","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/theculturednerd.org\/?p=44052","title":{"rendered":"Sequel to &#8216;The Passion&#8217; may be around the corner!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Mel Gibson<\/strong> made waves with his 2004 blockbuster, <strong><em>The Passion of the Christ<\/em><\/strong>, centered around the final days and crucifixion of Jesus Christ. For a while now he has talked about a sequel to the film, <strong><em>The Passion of the Christ: Resurrection<\/em><\/strong>. Now, it seems that the film may be closer than we&#8217;d thought!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to an Italian news source, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.italpress.com\/mel-gibson-is-scouting-malta-on-a-potential-film-project\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong><em>Italpress<\/em><\/strong><\/a>, Gibson was in Malta on a five-day visit scouting locations for the upcoming film. They say that he even met with the Maltese Prime Minister, <strong>Robert Abela<\/strong>, to discuss the film. <strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/collider.com\/passion-of-the-christ-sequel-update-mel-gibson\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Collider<\/a><\/em><\/strong> has reported that filming may start in 2025. What we do know is that Gibson has stated that the film may not be linear and may explore other realms. <strong>Jim Caviezel<\/strong> is also set to return in the role of Jesus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It will be intriguing to see how this film displays such a pivotal event in human history for those of the Christian faith. In the meantime, we&#8217;ll have to wait for more announcements about when the movie is undergoing filming. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Will you be rushing to the theater to see the new <em>Passion<\/em> movie?
