Maggs has had a distinguished career in the realm of radios where he has elevated radio drama to the level which he describes as a \u201cfilm in your ears\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Hindi version features <strong><em>Tabu<\/em><\/strong> (\u201cAndhadhun\u201d) as the narrator, <strong><em>Vijay Varma<\/em><\/strong> (\u201cA Suitable Boy\u201d) in the lead role of Morpheus\/Dream, <strong><em>Manoj Bajpayee<\/em><\/strong> (\u201cThe Family Man\u201d) as Doctor Dee, <strong><em>Sushant Divgikar<\/em><\/strong> (\u201cEvening Shadows\u201d) as Desire, <strong><em>Adarsh Gaurav<\/em><\/strong> (\u201cThe White Tiger\u201d) as Constantine, <strong><em>Neeraj Kabi<\/em><\/strong> (\u201cPaatal Lok\u201d) as Lucifer, <strong><em>Kubbra Sait<\/em><\/strong> (\u201cFoundation\u201d) as Death and <strong><em>Tillotama Shome<\/em><\/strong> (\u201cSir\u201d) as Calliope.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<div class=\"jetpack-video-wrapper\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"The Sandman (Hindi) | Official Teaser | Audible India | DC\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/dN9U88Posl8?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Dirk Maggs<\/em> spoke to Variety giving his thoughts on the new project and how overly excited he was about the cast involved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-style-large is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>\u201cI was absolutely, if you pardon the expression, gobsmacked when I saw who is going to be performing, because this is a cast of A-listers. This is exactly how we\u2019ve tried to cast it for the English-language version, which is to get the very best cast we can, and it\u2019s not because it\u2019s a gimmick to get A-list actors to perform this stuff. Its by Neil Gaiman and it needs people of this caliber to make it work. And when you get a cast this good there is no better performance available in those roles. I\u2019ve got to say, I just love Tabu as the narrator \u2013 it\u2019s wonderful to have a female voice performing what is Neil\u2019s part in our English-language version , then you\u2019ve got Manoj who\u2019s just amazing as Doctor Dee \u2013 it\u2019s exactly what it needs to be which is a scenery chewing performance, but still absolutely classy. In Vijay, who\u2019s the young and upcoming talent who\u2019s playing Morpheus \u2014 very much like James McAvoy who plays Morpheus in the English-language version \u2014 you\u2019ve got someone who\u2019s got real energy and vitality in the part. The whole cast is just to die for really, or to dream about.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the audio adaptation, The Sandman, also known as Lord Morpheus, the immortal king of dreams, stories and the imagination, is pulled from his realm and imprisoned on Earth by a nefarious cult and languishes for decades before finally escaping.
