In the trailer below, the first half shows how the multiplayer experience is further elevated and noticeably different from its 2017 predecessor, <strong><em>Splatoon<\/em><\/strong> <strong><em>2<\/em><\/strong>. Some gorgeous, colorful highlights of the turf war display includes the return of stages from the first game that were not included from the last game like Museum D\u2019Alfonsino and a new stage that is yet to be named, new special weapons such as a force field device, a transformer crab cannon, and even giving the cephalopod hybrids <strong><em>Spider-Man<\/em><\/strong>-like powers for a short period of time. However, right in the middle, the video \u201cglitches\u201d as a transition to show <em><strong>Splatoon<\/strong><\/em> fans the next chapter in the single player campaign titled <em><strong>Return of the Mammalians<\/strong><\/em>.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<div class=\"jetpack-video-wrapper\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Splatoon 3 \u2013 \u201cReturn of the Mammalians\u201d \u2013 Nintendo Switch \u2013 Nintendo Direct 9.23.21\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Z4ngPsn5d5A?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As seen at the tail end of the trailer, the same release year was shown: 2022. Much to many fans\u2019 surprise, no release or even a preorder date was announced.
