According to the Independent, &#8216;he was not asked&#8217; to voice his character on the new Disney+ animated show, which aired August 11th 2021. This was unexpected as many actors reprised their roles such as <strong>Chadwick Boseman <\/strong>as <strong>T&#8217;Challa<\/strong>, <strong>Jeremy Renner<\/strong> as <strong>Hawkeye <\/strong>and many others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On <strong>Twitter<\/strong>, a fan asked Bautista why he wasn&#8217;t voicing Drax on the new show and he replied with:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">What<\/p>&mdash; James Gunn (@JamesGunn) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JamesGunn\/status\/1422301799201968172?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">August 2, 2021<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>James Gunn<\/strong>, director of the <strong>Guardians of the Galaxy<\/strong> even expressed his shock under his tweet, causing the <em>What If&#8230;?<\/em> executive producer, <strong>Winderbaum <\/strong>to respond.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He spoke to <strong><em>Variety <\/em><\/strong>saying:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>I saw that, too. It\u2019s my understanding that everybody was asked in some way, shape or form, either through their agents or directly. I don\u2019t know really what happened behind the scenes there, but certainly, we would have loved for him to be in the show. So there\u2019s probably some miscommunication somewhere.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This hasn&#8217;t been the first time that Bautista spoke out on the mishandling of his character but it is without a doubt that he loves playing Drax. Earlier this year, he spoke to <strong><em>Express <\/em><\/strong>and said, <em>&#8220;The thing is, I&#8217;m so comfortable with playing Drax&#8230;Drax is so fleshed out&#8230;I know who he is..&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>What are your thoughts on this?
