The film outperformed box office numbers by breaking a COVID-19 <\/strong>pandemic record of over $400 million globally, and alongside Zack Snyder’s Justice League<\/em><\/strong>,<\/a> the film was crucial for HBO Max<\/strong>‘s success in the first quarter of 2021. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

After some believed Godzilla vs. Kong<\/em> to be the culmination of the MonsterVerse<\/strong>, the studio has expressed their desire to continue the franchise as they “have a number of ideas”<\/a>. Now, according to an exclusive from The Hollywood Reporter,<\/a><\/strong> Legendary are “quietly taking steps to stretch the series into one or more installments, entering early talks with\u00a0Godzilla vs. Kong<\/em>\u00a0director Adam Wingard<\/strong>\u00a0to return for another round of monster-on-monster mayhem”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The reporter, Borys Kit<\/strong>, went on to state that a potential project in development could be based on Son of Kong<\/strong>:<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
