{"id":37146,"date":"2021-04-09T15:32:30","date_gmt":"2021-04-09T22:32:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/theculturednerd.org\/?p=37146"},"modified":"2021-04-09T15:32:32","modified_gmt":"2021-04-09T22:32:32","slug":"indiana-jones-sequel-finds-its-female-lead-in-phoebe-waller-bridge-john-williams-returns-to-score","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/theculturednerd.org\/?p=37146","title":{"rendered":"\u2018Indiana Jones\u2019 Sequel Finds its Female Lead in Phoebe Waller-Bridge; John Williams Returns to Score"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/Fleabags-Phoebe-Waller-Bridge.jpg?quality=86&amp;strip=all\" alt=\"Fleabag's Phoebe Waller-Bridge: 5 Things to Know\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>Indiana Jones 5\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>has found its female lead in\u00a0<strong>Phoebe Waller-Bridge<\/strong>, and the magic of the original trilogy is hoping to be recaptured with the inclusion of\u00a0<strong>John Williams<\/strong>, who will act as composer of the film.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The next installment of the\u00a0<em>Indiana Jones<\/em>\u00a0franchise, which sees\u00a0<strong>Harrison Ford<\/strong>\u00a0reprise his role as the titular character, was recently confirmed by\u00a0<strong>Kathleen Kennedy<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Lucasfilm<\/strong>\u00a0during\u00a0<strong>Disney Investor Day 2020<\/strong>, where the studio revealed its upcoming slate of films.\u00a0<strong>James Mangold<\/strong>\u00a0(<em><strong>Logan<\/strong>, <strong>3:10 to Yuma<\/strong><\/em>) was confirmed as the film\u2019s director, taking over from\u00a0<strong>Steven Spielberg<\/strong>, who is still attached as a producer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Waller-Bridge\u2019s most major credit to date is\u00a0<strong><em>Fleabag<\/em><\/strong>, an Amazon Prime Original in which the actress produces, writes, stars and acts as showrunner: it also earned her notoriety among critics and audiences. Most recently, audiences saw her in\u00a0<strong><em>Solo: A Star Wars Story<\/em><\/strong>, where she played L3-37, a droid aiding a young <strong>Han Solo<\/strong> and <strong>Lando Calrissian<\/strong>. Her next credited appearance is in\u00a0<em><strong>No Time to Die<\/strong><\/em>, which she also co-writes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>John Williams<\/strong>\u00a0has recently scored the Disney\u00a0<strong>Star Wars<\/strong><em>\u00a0<\/em>trilogy up through\u00a0<em>The Rise of Skywalker<\/em>, as he is known for his iconic scores from the original\u00a0<em>Star Wars<\/em>\u00a0films.
