Ever since it\u2019s tantalizing introductory panel at DC FanDome<\/strong> last August, news regarding Dwayne \u201cThe Rock\u201d Johnson\u2019s<\/strong> upcoming Black Adam<\/em><\/strong> movie has been at relatively slow pace. While the initial casting announcement of Noah Centineo <\/strong>as Al Rothstein\/Atom Smasher<\/strong> caused some major buzz, the subsequent castings of Aldis Hodge<\/strong> as Carter Hall\/Hawkman<\/strong> and Quintessa Swindell<\/strong> as Maxine Hunkell\/Cyclone<\/strong> only continued fan\u2019s anticipation for more news surrounding the film. Now, according to a new report from The Hollywood Reporter<\/em><\/strong>, Warner Bros.<\/strong> and New Line\u2019s<\/strong> Black Adam<\/em> film has not only added a new actor in a mysterious role to its cast, but it may have also finally set a target date for filming to commence. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to The Hollywood Reporter<\/em>\u2019s weekly newsletter<\/a>, HeatVision<\/em><\/strong>, Black Adam<\/em> is in final negotiations to cast Aladdin<\/em><\/strong> star Marwan Kenzari<\/strong> in a mystery role. In addition, after multiple delays due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic<\/strong>, it appears that the film\u2019s principal photography in Atlanta<\/strong> is tentatively on schedule to begin rolling cameras in April.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kenzari is well known for his portrayal of the villainous Jafar<\/strong> in Disney\u2019s<\/strong> live-action remake of Aladdi<\/em>n as well as starring alongside Charlize Theron<\/strong> in Netflix\u2019s<\/strong> action thriller film, Old Guard<\/strong><\/em>. While a majority of the Justice Society<\/strong> of America<\/strong> members have been casted, Doctor Fate<\/strong> is the lone JSA member yet-to-be casted. With principal photography for the film seemingly expected to start in the upcoming months, fans can expect some additional updates surrounding the film\u2019s entire cast and plot to come in the near future. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

While Black Adam<\/em> was previously slated to release in December 2021, it was removed from the calendar and with the Jaume Collet-Serra<\/strong> led filming effort set to possibly beginning in the upcoming months, the film will now presumably debut in 2022 or 2023. In the meantime, you can check out the DC FanDome Black Adam<\/em> teaser that aired last August down below. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
