The actress has been vocal about her conservative political stance and opinions on social media, and as such, she has received backlash before.  Wednesday&#8217;s controversy involved a now-deleted repost on Carano&#8217;s Instagram story, which essentially compared modern political division to Nazi Germany.  The message read:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>&#8220;Jews were beaten in the streets, not by Nazi soldiers but by their neighbors\u2026even by children. Because history is edited, most people today don\u2019t realize that to get to the point where Nazi soldiers could easily round up thousands of Jews, the government first made their own neighbors hate them simply for being Jews. How is that any different from hating someone for their political views.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"521\" src=\"https:\/\/theculturednerd.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/lucasfilm-logo-1024x521.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-35625\" srcset=\"https:\/\/theculturednerd.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/lucasfilm-logo-1024x521.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/theculturednerd.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/lucasfilm-logo-300x153.jpg 300w, https:\/\/theculturednerd.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/lucasfilm-logo-768x391.jpg 768w, https:\/\/theculturednerd.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/lucasfilm-logo.jpg 1180w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Shortly after the post started circulating on the platform, <strong>#FireGinaCarano <\/strong>began trending on Twitter, as users expressed their dismay.  The hashtag had been used prior in other politically charged controversies surrounding the actress, but Lucasfilm had not commented in those prior instances.  The company addressed this latest incident Wednesday evening, with a Lucasfilm spokesperson delivering the following statement:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>&#8220;Gina Carano is not currently employed by Lucasfilm and there are no plans for her to be in the future.
