As most of Marvel Studio\u2019s<\/strong> recent promotional material for their Disney+<\/strong> properties hints at, the Marvel Cinematic Universe<\/strong> is expanding. With Marvel projects such as the currently airing WandaVision<\/em><\/strong>, and the upcoming likes of Loki<\/em><\/strong>, the yet to be titled third Spider-Man<\/em><\/strong> film and Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness<\/em><\/strong>, it\u2019s clear that MCU\u2019s future storyline lies within the multiverse. With that being said, MCU fans have wondered whether this multiverse storyline would be contained to the projects mentioned above, or if it will branch out beyond them. Now, Marvel Studio\u2019s Chief Creative Officer Kevin Feige<\/strong>, may have teased fans with some insight into what their plans for the MCU\u2019s multiverse are through some of his recent comments.

In a recent interview with Rotten Tomatoes TV<\/a><\/em><\/strong>, Feige seemingly confirmed that the multiverse would go on to be a reoccurring theme within the large MCU after the events of the upcoming Doctor Strange<\/em> sequel, Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. <\/em>You can check out Feige\u2019s comment from the interview down below. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe title of the next Doctor Strange movie is Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, so that is our biggest clue that that movie will embrace the Multiverse and the madness therein, very directly. There are, as we always like to do, connections before and after that, which will remain to be seen and discovered, but it seemed appropriate that it would be Doctor Strange that takes that on in the most direct way.”<\/strong><\/p>Marvel Studio\u2019s Kevin Feige on the role the multiverse will play in the current MCU. While WandaVision<\/em> officially kickstarted the multiverse storyline to launch Phase 4<\/strong>, the upcoming Spider-Man<\/em> and Dr. Strange<\/em> sequels will deal with the idea of a multiverse in a more \u201cdirect\u201d way. With the third MCU Spider-Man<\/em> film reportedly trying to incorporate different cinematic versions of Spider-Man<\/em> (Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield) as well as other characters and the Dr. Strange<\/em> sequel bringing Elizabeth Olsen\u2019s Wanda Maximoff<\/strong> back into the fold along with introducing fans to Xochitl Gomez<\/strong> as America Chavez<\/strong> , it\u2019s hard for fans not to be excited about what\u2019s now possible because of the expansion of the multiverse within the MCU.

Speaking of possibilities granted by the multiverse, Feige was also asked about the possibility of Quicksilver<\/strong>, Magneto<\/strong>, and other family members that are closely associated with Wanda from the comics showing up in the later half of episodes in WandaVision<\/em>. While the possibility of Magneto showing up to reveal that he’s Wanda’s father is highly unlikely, the idea of Quicksilver making an appearance whether it\u2019s a previous<\/a> iteration or a new version, is something that will surely shock MCU fans already embedded in Marvel Studios first Disney+ show. Nevertheless, with the multiverse becoming the focal point of Marvel Studios for the foreseeable future, the possibilities for different iterations of characters showing up all over the MCU appears to be the new norm, and that is an exciting prospect for Marvel fans all over the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can witness the beginning this multiverse storyline with Marvel’s WandaVision<\/em>, which is currently streaming on Disney+, with new episodes being released Fridays at midnight PT\/3am ET. The cinematic follow ups to this multiverse storyline , the yet to be titled Spider-Man<\/em> sequel and Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness<\/em>, are set for release dates in December 2021 and March 2022 respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
