The film, titled <em><strong>Ant-Man &amp; the Wasp: Quantumania<\/strong><\/em> is set to have all of the lead actors from past sequels return for this, except <strong>Emma Fuhrmann<\/strong>, who portrayed an older version of <strong>Cassie Lang<\/strong> in last years <em><strong>Avengers: Endgame<\/strong><\/em> (yes that was really last year).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Thanks to a 5 year time jump and a few hours in the quantum realm,<strong> Scott Lang <\/strong>(Rudd) finds himself face to face with his own daughter, all grown up, aging 5 years over the few hours Lang was trapped within the QR. Actor Emma Fuhrmann took on the role this time around,  playing a very believable older version of <strong>Abby Ryder Fortson<\/strong>, the previous actor to portray the character in both <em>Ant-Man<\/em> films prior to <em>Endgame<\/em>. Fuhrmann was a great choice and really nailed one of the most emotional scenes in the film. It was looking like she would be a great choice to join the sequel, or even branch off into a potential <em><strong>Young Avengers<\/strong><\/em> film or <strong>disney+<\/strong> series as her comic accurate persona known as <em><strong>Stature<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Marvel Studios <\/strong>president <strong>Kevin Feige<\/strong> confirmed at Thursdays <strong>Disney Investor Day<\/strong> presentation that the third <em>Ant-Man<\/em> movie is officially on the way, he also revealed the title (<em>Quantumania)<\/em> and confirmed that Cassie Lang will be recast. Upcoming actor Kathryn Newton, will be taking over as the character this go around, meaning Fuhrmann is no longer attached to the role. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The official <em>Ant-Man<\/em> Twitter account released a teaser poster for the film along with a confirmation on the new casting:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-twitter wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Peyton Reed is back to direct the third Ant-Man film, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Michael Douglas, and Michelle Pfeiffer all return. Kathryn Newton joins the cast as Cassie Lang, and Jonathan Majors as Kang the Conqueror. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/7V410XxIm5\">pic.twitter.com\/7V410XxIm5<\/a><\/p>&mdash; Ant-Man (@AntMan) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/AntMan\/status\/1337200684538580997?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">December 11, 2020<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There is only speculation as to why the character was recast, the recent pandemic combined with continued scheduling issues could be the culprit. On the other hand, Newton has become a very bankable star in just the past few years with roles in<strong> <em>Big Little Lies<\/em><\/strong>, <strong><em>Blockers<\/em><\/strong>, <strong><em>Detective Pikachu<\/em><\/strong>, and<strong> <em>Three Billboards Outside Ebbing<\/em><\/strong><em>,<\/em><strong><em> Missour<\/em><\/strong><em><strong>i<\/strong><\/em>. However, it does seem strange to make this move now, only a few years after Emma Fuhrmann was cast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Newton will be joined by fellow <strong>Marvel <\/strong>newcomer <strong>Jonathan Majors<\/strong>, the talented star who quickly caught our attention in <strong>HBO&#8217;s \u00a0<em>Lovecraft Country<\/em><\/strong>,\u00a0<em><strong>Da 5 Bloods<\/strong><\/em>, and\u00a0<em><strong>The Last Black Man in San Francisco<\/strong><\/em>. Majors will play a key role in this film and many more to come as time traveling super-villian <strong><em>Kang the Conqueror<\/em><\/strong>, who poses as formidable a threat as <strong><em>Thanos<\/em> <\/strong>to the <strong><em>Avengers<\/em><\/strong>, let alone <em>Ant-Man<\/em> and his crew of misfits. Director Peyton Reed will return to finish off the trilogy. Other Marvel directors or have or are set to direct three MCU films include <strong>Joe <\/strong>&amp;<strong> Anthony Russo<\/strong> (<em><strong>Caption America<\/strong><\/em> \/ <em>Avengers<\/em> franchises), <strong>James Gunn<\/strong> (<em><strong>Guardians of the Galaxy 1-3<\/strong><\/em>), and<strong> Jon Watts<\/strong> (<em><strong>Spiderman<\/strong><\/em> franchise).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">No plot details have been revealed for A<em>nt-Man &amp; the Wasp: Quantumania<\/em> at the moment, but rest assured, we will surely get more updates as they ramp up production for a spring\/summer of 2021 start.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>What do you think about Cassie Lang being recast?
