Much to the excitement of the fans, James Gunn<\/strong>\u2019s Peacemaker<\/em><\/strong> HBO Max<\/strong> series starring WWE<\/strong> Superstar John Cena<\/strong> reprising his role from Gunn\u2019s upcoming The Suicide Squad<\/em><\/strong>, is nearing the start of production. With the director confirming<\/a> he is currently in a two week quarantine before he can arrive on set, fans have begun wondering what other DC<\/strong> characters will be featured alongside Cena\u2019s titular character. While major casting news for the series has been virtually impossible to come by, WarnerMedia<\/strong> took to the internet to give fans an official update on Peacemaker\u2019s<\/em> cast. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In an official press release<\/a> from WarnerMedia, the Peacemaker<\/em> series has officially added Danielle Brooks, Robert Patrick, Jennifer Holland<\/strong> and Chris Conrad<\/strong> to its cast. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Danielle Brooks, who is best known for her role in the Netflix<\/strong> series Orange Is the New Black<\/em><\/strong>, will portray a character named Leota Adebayo<\/strong>, but the exact nature of what role her character will play in the series is currently unknown. Robert Patrick, who is best known for his portrayal of the villainous T-1000<\/strong> in Terminator 2: Judgement Day<\/em><\/strong>, is set to play Auggie Smith<\/strong> who appears to be an original character created by Gunn similar to Brooks\u2019 character. Jennifer Holland will be reprising her role from The Suicide Squad<\/em> as Emilia Harcourt<\/strong>, who is rumored to be an ARGUS<\/strong> operative assisting Viola Davis\u2019 Amanda Waller<\/strong> throughout the movie. The last and perhaps most interesting piece of casting news to come out of the press release is Chris Conrad<\/strong>\u2019s casting in the role of Adrian Chase<\/strong> \/ Vigilante<\/strong>. Fans were quick to recognize the character from a previous iteration portrayed by Josh Segerra<\/strong>, that served as the main antagonist for multiple seasons on the CW\u2019s<\/strong> original \u201cArrowVerse<\/strong>\u201d program, Arrow<\/em><\/strong>. These new cast members will join Cena and Steve Agee<\/strong>, who is already confirmed for providing the motion capture for King Shark<\/strong> in The Suicide Squad<\/em>, but will also be reprising his role as Belle Reeve Federal Penitentiary<\/strong>\u2019s warden John Economos<\/strong> from the film in the series. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to the casting news, James Gunn took to Instagram to share his excitement over the new cast members and also to confirm that his Peacemaker<\/em> series will the first small screen series to take place within the larger DC Films<\/strong> universe.
