Fortnite<\/strong> has been a household name for gamers since its inception on the PS4 3 years ago. It was a fresh take on the the Battle Royale genre with the build-to-protect feature which added not only a new dimension to the genre but also a learning curve to acing the game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And now, as we are just a few days away from the much awaited launch of the PS5, we take a look into how Fortnite<\/em> will take advantage of the DualSense<\/strong> controller and how it would utilise the PS5s tech to make gameplay better.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Dive into DualSense: A More Tactile Battle Royale<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

To demonstrate how the DualSense<\/em> controller would would work, the initial usage of it will be restricted to ranged weapons, making it feel like your old favorites such as the Pistol, Suppressed SMG, and Bolt-Action Sniper Rifle are actually in your hands. How does this work though?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fortnite<\/em> will support two kinds of adaptive trigger feedback for ranged weapons: trigger pull feedback<\/strong> and sustained feedback<\/strong>. Weapons that fire once per trigger pull \u2014 your Pistols, SMGs, Snipers, Assault Rifles, etc. \u2014 will use trigger pull feedback<\/strong>, meaning you\u2019ll feel the authentic resistance of pulling their triggers as you push down the trigger of the DualSense<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Weapons that require you to hold down the trigger button \u2014 like the Boom Bow and the Minigun \u2014 will make use of sustained feedback<\/strong>. Even as you\u2019re holding the DualSense <\/em>trigger all the way down, you\u2019ll still feel an authentic sensation of resistance, reminiscent of what it feels like to draw back a bow or keep a Minigun firing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
