In the announcement, Disney announced that these three services which are offered as a monthly bundle for $13.99 are going to be in charge of creating and producing new content with the focus of their streaming content first and theatrical content second.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh5.googleusercontent.com\/8rGM0f82d44qEr_1ksHITplVWP1Gf_H5JHPPNmMWv-wXx6YJPLqUNzk08WBbnzVK349bYdA-E4eJeV02hVtDHyGvaD7OZGEepUfH7Eq_NyIXeiIO4QMkOAd3_X9ZZG-Sf7cPgD5A\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For years, Disney has dominated the animated theatrical film market with <strong>Dreamworks<\/strong> being one of the only major contenders. Now that Disney is making it clear that their focus is going to be on streaming services, that serves up another massive blow to the theater industry which has already had an incredibly rough 2020.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh3.googleusercontent.com\/FVBNI2Tr5gHTReGdcIMFa8KW7NJ6t0v4OKb8N28hO02wPrjNUAKOsW65OrwtWfNRZ3XODyuzJj0xSB82QaOV89qsRbMMuztvgnHTf3AbKj9S9zbgQy9ekvFJ1G2XjV-a5OW8dmAl\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With Disney\u2019s next major blockbusters <strong><em>Soul<\/em><\/strong>, and <strong><em>Black Widow<\/em><\/strong> both being delayed and and the majority of other highly anticipated blockbusters such as <strong><em>A Quiet Place II<\/em><\/strong>, <strong><em>Fast and Furious 9<\/em><\/strong>, <strong><em>James Bond: No Time To Die<\/em><\/strong>, and <strong><em>Top Gun: Maverick<\/em><\/strong> being delayed until next year, it\u2019s becoming more apparent that theaters may soon end up extinct.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh4.googleusercontent.com\/NGZt2r77_16nMHtxEi2QWsFfjrVxsN_XOXBx-gukNI49PZYwZIvNIfU4jaa9FNjR_s7lXRLiUAM5s0M8bX_r51QPuJib0MbkqYhrufyIZj0YleeqnTFUJFZ8JIwh5vXEX-Y307U4\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Some people may have confidence in the survival of theaters, however, the <strong>Marvel Cinematic Universe<\/strong> or <strong>MCU<\/strong> also falls under the previously mentioned Disney umbrella and given the immense theatrical success that the franchise has garnered, what could this mean for theaters? The MCU is already expanding, and introducing new content exclusively for Disney+, which could mean fans of the MCU may have to succumb to watching lower budgeted movies or more limited series shows such as the upcoming <strong><em>Wandavision<\/em><\/strong>, <strong><em>Falcon and The Winter Soldier<\/em><\/strong>, and <strong><em>Loki<\/em><\/strong>. The same can be said for the highly successful and recognizable <strong>Star Wars<\/strong> franchise as well. Once again, with Disney focusing on streaming content, that could mean that fans may have to grow accustomed to watching more shows in the likes of <strong><em>The Mandalorian<\/em><\/strong>. To put it plainly, if Disney is choosing to place its focus on streaming content, that could mean future big budget blockbusters similar to <strong><em>Endgame <\/em><\/strong>and <strong><em>The Rise of Skywalker<\/em><\/strong>, may no longer come to fruition or they\u2019ll be stretched into a mini series instead of receiving the large blockbuster theatrical release treatment.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh4.googleusercontent.com\/yAPzXdfrmBOVAen8CP_Il5Mnu8seS4vPGYAPTcuGzXDg5nGs82ZgeyiAlXC9vkGN2DCKsa1bywFgdSqqfO1csm54-SvFx7h6ip5Aidk0He7ADe2RMBra04qEQHkymQvHrpLKxdtu\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Disney focusing on streaming content, may be preferable to some fans but we must not forget about the fans that prefer going out to cinemas and watching a movie such as <em>Endgame <\/em>or <em>The Rise of Skywalker <\/em>in the clear cut, optimal viewing experience of the theater.
