After somewhat of a multi-studio bidding war, New Line Cinema<\/strong> has acquired the rights to the pitch for Super High<\/strong><\/em>, a superhero-stoner comedy starring Andy Samberg<\/strong>, Craig Robinson<\/strong> and Common<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Writer Adam Mansbach<\/strong> (Barry<\/em>) will pen the screenplay based on his and actor Shamier Andersons <\/strong>original story. Producing groups Party Over Here<\/strong>, 3 Arts<\/strong>, and Narrative <\/strong>will produce alongside the three lead actors. Richard Brener <\/strong>and Dave Neustadter<\/strong> will oversee the production for New Line Cinema. The film will reportedly center on a special strain of marijuana that gives people superpowers when they ingest it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Robinson\u2019s recent film credits include Timmy Failure: Mistakes Were Made <\/strong><\/em>and Dolemite Is My Name <\/strong><\/em>which are both streaming on Disney Plus <\/strong>and Netflix<\/strong> respectively. <\/em>Samberg was most recently in the Sundance Festival hit Palm Springs <\/strong><\/em>which is now streaming on Hulu<\/strong>. He will also continue to star in the ABC <\/strong>sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine <\/strong><\/em>which streams exclusively on Hulu. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
