Whether it is issues with casting, production or even special effects, disagreements happen and that causes people to leave. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In this case of <strong><em>Indiana Jones 5<\/em><\/strong>, issues with the script caused both <strong>David Koepp <\/strong>and <strong>Steven Spielberg<\/strong> to walk away from the project. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a recent interview with <strong>Den of Geek<\/strong>, David (who penned 2008&#8217;s <em>Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull<\/em>), shared what lead to Spielberg leaving Indiana Jones behind. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>\u201cI tried a couple different versions with Steven and they all had some good stuff about them and they all had some stuff that didn\u2019t work, which happens,\u201d he says. \u201cBut it was just very hard to have everybody come together and have all the elements \u2014 Steven, Harrison (Ford), the script and Disney \u2014 come together at once. And it didn\u2019t.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Koepp further elaborated why he himself left not long after Spielberg called it quits. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>\u201cWhen James Mangold came in and Steven stepped out, that was a pretty logical breaking point&#8230;It\u2019s a gracious time to step out the door because I think the last thing a new director wants is the old director\u2019s writer. I mean, that\u2019s a drag. The last thing you need is some guy sitting around with his arms folded saying, \u2018Well, the way Steven would have done it is\u2026\u2019 I had one nice friendly conversation with him and then I\u2019m sure he wanted to be able to move on anyway.
