Grant and Sattler. Computer animation is one of the pillars of the <em><strong>Jurassic Park<\/strong> <\/em>franchise; its groundbreaking technology rippled through Hollywood much like the stomp of the <em>T. Rex<\/em>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But this terrific world is dual-natured, the other of which director <strong>Colin Trevorrow <\/strong>promises will return in force for <strong><em>Jurassic World: Dominion<\/em><\/strong>&#8211;practical effects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In an interview with <a href=\"https:\/\/collider.com\/jurassic-world-3-animatronic-dinosaurs-colin-trevorrow-interview\/\">Collider<\/a>, Trevorrow indicated his commitment to scaling up the practical effects in the <em>Jurassic World<\/em> films:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>We\u2019ve actually gone more practical with every Jurassic movie we\u2019ve made since the first one, and we\u2019ve made more animatronics in this one than we have in the previous two . . . digital extensions on animatronics will be able to match the texture and the level of fidelity that, on film, an animatronic is going to be able to bring. And you didn\u2019t use to be able to really mix them. You could really see the seams. And so that part of it is very exciting for me.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Many fans of the <em>Jurassic Park<\/em> franchise believe that its success was strongly due to the marrying of practical and computer effects. The awe-inspiring animated water hole scene eventually gives way to the extremely visceral and horrifying <em>T. Rex<\/em> attack, mainly done with an animatronic dino. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.stanwinstonschool.com\/\">Stan Winston Studios and their amazing practical creature effects<\/a> have been showcased to some degree in all of the <em>Jurassic Park <\/em>films.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/theculturednerd.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/stan-winston.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-27351\" width=\"652\" height=\"390\" srcset=\"https:\/\/theculturednerd.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/stan-winston.jpg 869w, https:\/\/theculturednerd.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/stan-winston-300x180.jpg 300w, https:\/\/theculturednerd.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/stan-winston-768x460.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 652px) 100vw, 652px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, later sequels have opted for a heavier use of CGI, which in some cases has dulled the unique tangibility only practical effects can deliver. Both follow-ups in the <em>Jurassic World <\/em>series have been criticized for over-using computer effects. While <em>Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom <\/em>did add more practical effects than its predecessor (such as the incredible animatronic Blue and T. Rex), it was not received as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Although <em>Jurassic World: Dominion<\/em> suffered <a href=\"https:\/\/theculturednerd.org\/?s=delays\">similar delays<\/a> to the rest of the entertainment world due to the global pandemic, it is expected to release June 11, 2021. <em>Jurassic World: Dominion<\/em> is directed by Colin Trevorrow and stars <strong>Bryce Dallas Howard<\/strong>, <strong>Chris Pratt<\/strong>, and <strong>Jake Johnson<\/strong>.
