In a surprise announcement<\/a>, our favorite homicidal doll, Chucky<\/strong>, will be returning in the form of a television series that will air on both SYFY<\/strong> and USA Network<\/strong> in 2021. The return of Chucky <\/em>will also hail the return of Brad Dourif<\/strong> to voice the horror icon in the new series.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new show will omit the 2019 reboot that featured the voice talents of the legendary Mark Hamill<\/strong> as the murderous toy and pick up where the Cult of Chucky<\/em><\/strong> left off back in 2017.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The original writer and new showrunner, Don Mancini<\/strong>, said on the Post Mortem Podcast<\/em> back in 2019,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“One of the things that has kept the franchise alive and thriving for so long is that we\u2019ve reinvented it in different ways, by making it a comedy, and then back to horror. But the sheer storytelling real estate of doing eight to 10 episodes\u2026 will allow us to delve into characters and relationships in a way that we\u2019re never afforded in just a 90-minute movie. That\u2019s really exciting to me.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

While the reboot was not as well received as many of the previous installments of the legendary horror movies, there is no mistaking the fact that Chucky<\/em> has a huge cult following. The psychopathic doll that has haunted nightmares for decades will return to screens in 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
