Fans figured that Nintendo would follow suit with Sony and Microsoft and do something on their own time in May\/June, but now that doesn&#8217;t seem like the case. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-twitter wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">No Nintendo Direct planned for June due to work-from-home hurdles <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/8gMwRsCdMX\">https:\/\/t.co\/8gMwRsCdMX<\/a> by <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JeffGrubb?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@jeffgrubb<\/a><\/p>&mdash; GamesBeat (@GamesBeat) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/GamesBeat\/status\/1255870563135913994?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 30, 2020<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It has now been reported by VentureBeat, that a June Nintendo Direct will not happen due to the stay at home orders complicating everything in Japan. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/venturebeat.com\/2020\/04\/30\/no-nintendo-direct-planned-for-june-due-to-work-from-home-hurdles\/\" target=\"_blank\">article<\/a>, it highlights an apparent cultural clash happening in Japan when it comes to working with its international partners. It&#8217;s stated that corporations in Japan (including Nintendo) place a lot of importance in working in person, meaning they haven&#8217;t really adapted well to the idea of working from home. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A June Direct was reportedly being worked on, but it apparently can&#8217;t be done in time without being in the studio. Nintendo realizing this reportedly told their international partners that the Direct wasn&#8217;t happening in June. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A late summer Nintendo Direct is the earliest one that can happen, meaning details about their Fall\/Holiday lineup possibly won&#8217;t be known until then. Nintendo could, however, release information, however, they want in the form of trailers and press releases that highlights what to look forward to. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One of the biggest titles to be announced for the upcoming direct was the heavily rumored <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/theculturednerd.org\/2020\/03\/rumour-super-mario-back-catalogue-and-more-mario-titles-coming-to-switch\/\" target=\"_blank\">Super Mario 35th Anniversary<\/a> collection with some other surprises in store, but now that&#8217;s on the back burner until things start to settle down.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<div class=\"entry-summary\">\nE3 Nintendo Directs have become a tradition since the company abandoned its live presentations.
