Ahead of his upcoming documentary<\/a>, \u201cSeven Friends: George Miller\u2019s Justice League,\u201d filmmaker Ryan Unicomb<\/a> has begun sharing some BTS details of the long canceled and mysterious 2008 Justice League film. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among the recent revelations regarding the film and its initial production was that of a audition shortlist that Ryan had shared in his personal Instagram last night. The list was provided with no potential casting attached and included Mary Elizabeth Winstead<\/a> (BOP’s Huntress), Jessica Biel<\/a>, Minka Kelly<\/a> (Dove on DCU’s Titans), Max Thieriot<\/a>, Michael Angarano<\/a>, Scott Porter<\/a>, and Joseph Cross.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following that post he then shared the detail that Jessica Biel was actually the “studio’s pick” for Wonder Woman and they even went as far as offering the actress the role who subsequently turned it down. The role ultimately went to Megan Gale<\/a> before production began. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Justice League Mortal was in pre-production in 2007 that would be directed by\u00a0George Miller<\/a>\u00a0(Mad Max Franchise) and featured a cast including\u00a0D. J. Cotrona<\/a>\u00a0(Shazam!<\/em>) as Superman,\u00a0Armie Hammer<\/a>\u00a0(The Lone Ranger<\/em>) as Batman,\u00a0Megan Gale<\/a>\u00a0(Mad Max: Fury Road<\/em>) as Wonder Woman,\u00a0Common<\/a>\u00a0as Green Lantern,\u00a0Adam Brody<\/a>\u00a0 (The O.C<\/em>.) as\u00a0The Flash \/ Barry Allen,\u00a0Anton Yelchin<\/a>\u00a0(Star Trek<\/em>) as Wally West,\u00a0Hugh Keays-Byrne<\/a>\u00a0(Mad Max: Fury Road<\/em>) as Martian Manhunter,\u00a0Santiago Cabrera<\/a>\u00a0(Star Trek: Picard<\/em>) as Aquaman,\u00a0Teresa Palmer<\/a>\u00a0as Talia al Ghul, and\u00a0Jay Baruchel<\/a>\u00a0as the primary villain,\u00a0Maxwell Lord.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The film was set to launch a brand new connected universe, with Justice League Mortal being the initial film and solo-films expected to follow. Then the 2007\u201308 Writers Guild of America strike killed the film\u2019s production and the rest is history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
