He also directed <em>Doctor Strange<\/em> in the MCU but was replaced by <em>Sam Raimi<\/em> for the <em>Doctor Strange sequel<\/em> due to \u201ccreative differences\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It didn&#8217;t take long for fans to reach out to <em>Derrickson<\/em> via Twitter to see what he would want to direct next from the comic world. The common ground? Derrickson directed <em>Doctor Strange<\/em> where <strong>Tilda Swinton<\/strong> plays <em>The Ancient one<\/em>. He also directed the remake of <em>The Day the Earth Stood Still<\/em> starring <strong>Keanu Reeves<\/strong> as <em>Klaatu<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Maybe <em>Derrickson<\/em> is making a push for <em>Constantine<\/em> given that J.J. Abrams\u2019 company <em>Bad Robot Productions<\/em> has <a href=\"https:\/\/screenrant.com\/doctor-strange-scott-derrickson-dc-constantine-movie\/\">confirmed<\/a> they are developing live-action content related to <em>Justice League Dark<\/em>, which Constantine is a member of. Being a director that doesn\u2019t shy away from the dark, creepy, and scary, <em>Derrickson<\/em> could very well handle the reigns of such a task.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Derrickson<\/em> isn\u2019t the only one who wants a chance in bringing <em>Constantine<\/em> to the big screen. <strong>Reeves<\/strong> also wants another crack at playing the character again. While promoting <em>John Wick Chapter 3: Parabellum<\/em> in 2019, he was asked what character he would like to revisit. With no hesitation he shared his <a href=\"https:\/\/screenrant.com\/keanu-reeves-constantine-sequel\/\">top choice<\/a>.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote has-text-align-center is-style-large is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>&#8220;<em>always wanted to play John Constantine again.<\/em>&#8221;&nbsp;Sharing that his love for the&nbsp;<em>Constantine<\/em>&nbsp;universe&nbsp;continues to burn fourteen years after the fact, Reeves, said, &#8220;<em>I just had a blast playing the character and any [sic] of that world<\/em>.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>John Constantine<\/em> would be another bada** character for <em>Reeves<\/em> to return to. He\u2019s already making <em>John Wick 4<\/em>, he\u2019s bringing <em>Neo<\/em> back in <em>Matrix 4<\/em>, I say why not let him reprise the roll of John Constantine. This could be <strong>DC\u2019s<\/strong> chance lock up one of Hollywood\u2019s biggest draws to help usher in new <strong>DCU<\/strong> era going forward. Maybe there\u2019s nothing. While the <em>DCU<\/em> is being developed under the watch of <em>Abrams<\/em>, <strong>WB<\/strong> is also wanting to separate themselves from the <em>DCEU<\/em>. The new \u2018Batman\u2019 will bring the crowd no doubt, but the integration of <em>DC\u2019s<\/em> more magical, occult, and offbeat side can strike the curiosity of more if done right. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That being said, <em>Constantine<\/em> would be the perfect movie to build relationships to the other lesser known characters in the <em>DCU<\/em>. As of right now, this is pure speculation, hopes, and dreams off of a few tweets. We\u2019ll wait and see how this all plays out.
