{"id":19455,"date":"2020-02-24T12:05:50","date_gmt":"2020-02-24T20:05:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/theculturednerd.org\/?p=19455"},"modified":"2020-02-26T10:31:46","modified_gmt":"2020-02-26T18:31:46","slug":"wolverines-healing-factor-is-clarified-by-marvel-comics","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/theculturednerd.org\/?p=19455","title":{"rendered":"Wolverine&#8217;s healing factor is clarified by Marvel Comics"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Logan&#8217;s most versatile power is front and centre with brand new info.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignfull size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"846\" src=\"https:\/\/theculturednerd.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/9539d9290a613de4745d680b01771cde.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-19457\" srcset=\"https:\/\/theculturednerd.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/9539d9290a613de4745d680b01771cde.jpg 600w, https:\/\/theculturednerd.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/9539d9290a613de4745d680b01771cde-213x300.jpg 213w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><figcaption>Art by Michael Turner and Peter Steigerwald<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In Marvel Comics&#8217; latest X-Men reboot, Wolverine has been used fair heavily &#8212; particularly in the House of X series and other Dawn of X series such as X-Force. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The next step in Logan&#8217;s story is in his solo series, <em>Wolverine #1<\/em> gathers the themes and story beats and brings a more focused road for Wolverine&#8217;s continuous development to travel down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One of the more thought-provoking points that <em>Wolverine #1<\/em> has expanded upon is Logan&#8217;s healing factor, particularly in regards to his blood; giving more information, along with some restrictions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Wolverine has a completely unique blood chemistry that is so unlike other blood that it does not obey the same rules around the blood groups, positive and negative rhesus types or antibodies and antigens, however, although his blood is extremely different to everyone elses, his blood can still be transfused into others allowing for short term healing of others.<\/li><li>His blood completely rejects all infections, malignancies and autoimmune disorders, in a similar, yet completely separate, manner to the blood of Vampires.<\/li><li>Wolverine&#8217;s blood and it&#8217;s healing properties are only at 100% efficiency when inside his body, losing its effectiveness quickly when it leaves him, unlike Vampire blood which retains its infectious power.<\/li><li>Ultraviolet light has no deterioration effect on his blood, unlike Vampire blood.<\/li><li>Wolverine&#8217;s blood is not classified in the usual way. Each time he heals, it is because of his blood chemistry.
