Shortly after news broke that HBO had decided to pass on the Naomi Watts-led <em>Game of Thrones <\/em>prequel project, the premium cable network announced a straight-to-series order for a different prequel set in Westeros called <em>House of the Dragon.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Based on George R. R. Martin\u2019s companion novel of the same name, the\nseries will track the beginnings and rise of the Targaryen family, taking place\n300-years prior to the events of the original series. Martin alongside Ryan\nCondal (<em>Colony)<\/em>, will pen the 10-episode project.
