Once again, the legacy of Jim Henson finds an ally in Young Hollywood, they his time we see Joseph Gordon-Levitt producing and staring in a live-action Fraggle Rock movie. Variety<\/a> reports that this project “has been in the works for nearly a decade, but the attachment of Gordon-Levitt constitutes a major boost.”<\/p>\n

JGL goes on to say:<\/p>\n

“The first screen personas I ever loved were Henson creations, first on \u2018Sesame Street,\u2019 and then on \u2018Fraggle Rock. Jim Henson\u2019s characters make you laugh and sing, but they\u2019re also layered, surprising, and wise. From Oscar the Grouch, to Yoda, to the Fraggles. I\u2019ve never stopped loving his work, even as a young frisky man, and on into adulthood. Collaborating with Lisa Henson makes me confident we can do something that Jim would have loved. I\u2019m grateful and excited to be working with New Regency on this project.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Fraggle Rock, like myself, came into this world in 1983 but they only lasted 5 seasons on HBO. I’m ready to introduce Red Fraggle, Gobo Fraggle, Boober Fraggle, Wembley Fraggle, and Marjory the Trash Heap, among others, to a new generation of Fraggle Rock fans in the waiting.<\/p>\n
