\"X-Men-Fantastic-Four-Crossover-Movie\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Its no secret that Marvel and Fox don’t see eye to eye when it comes to the X-Men and Fantastic Four properties. Years ago, the rights for the films were snatched up by Fox, who then created a series of often lackluster films, but now that Marvel is an established studio they don’t have the ability to make films for many of these characters due to Fox refusing to play ball.<\/p>\n

Months ago, Rob Liefeld<\/a> was quoted saying that Marvel was looking to cease production and marketing for the franchises that they cant make movies for, and while Spider-Man is too popular to end, the X-men and Fantastic Four franchises are on the chopping block.<\/p>\n

While Marvel quickly dissolved those rumors with some witty rebuttals, Marvel just announced some new events at the New York Comic Con that may have revealed that they are planning to end these properties.<\/p>\n

Both cross-over events are set to potentially wipe these books off the market. Interestingly enough, both of these are Fox owned properties with films planned during the same year that they are set to run. So\u00a0was\u00a0Rob Liefeld<\/a>\u00a0right? It sure sounds like it.<\/p>\n

While its unlikely that Marvel would outright admit to this, the idea that they are feeding press and promotion into a film series that they cannot touch is motivation enough for this sort of thing, and with them recently running the “Death Of Wolverine” series and killing off one of the most popular X-Men characters, it seems Marvel is primed to cust ties with these properties.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
