A few weeks back a casting rumor hit that implied Arrow Season 3 would be seeing a rival Oliver Queen in terms of buisness and super powered prowess.<\/p>\n

According to TVLine <\/a>the initial casting request the character would be:<\/p>\n

\u2018DANIEL\u2019 |<\/strong>\u00a0Though Daniel could be a fake name to throw off spoilerholics, this 20something gent \u2014 a major recurring character for Season 3 \u2014 is a handsome, enigmatic and highly intelligent entrepreneur developing groundbreaking technology. (Picture a business magnate in Ryan Gosling\u2019s body.) Though exuding charm and confidence in public, he privately harbors a tragic past that will drive him to become a tech-powered superhero. Watch for this formidable fella to be a love interest for Felicity and a rival of Oliver\u2019s \u2013 both personally\u00a0and<\/em>\u00a0professionally.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Now according to TVLine<\/a>\u00a0we now know that actor Brandon Routh (Superman Returns, Chuck) will be playing none other than scientist Ray Palmer Aka The Atom in the next season of Arrow.<\/p>\n

An unparalleled scientist and inventor, Ray will play an unexpected role in the lives of Oliver and (rumored love interest) Felicity as the new owner of Queen Consolidated. Palmer\u2019s plans for Queen Consolidated\u2019s Applied Sciences Division will be shrouded in mystery.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

According to the report, Routh will join the cast for a staggering 14 episodes, making his “guest appearance” more like a regualr cast member at that point, also implying that his stay will be very pivotal to the “present-day” Arrow Storyline.<\/p>\n
