With Marvel’s new Netflix show Daredevil set to begin filming soon, and its leading hero already cast, Marvel has revealed that actor\u00a0Vincent D\u2019Onofrio\u00a0will be playing “the Kingpin” in the upcoming show.<\/p>\n

Marvel and Netflix are proud to announce that acclaimed actor Vincent D\u2019Onofrio has joined\u00a0\u201cMarvel\u2019s Daredevil,\u201d\u00a0an all-new 13-episode series premiering on Netflix in 2015. Best known for his critically-lauded work in \u201cLaw & Order: Criminal Intent,\u201d \u201cMen in Black, \u201cFull Metal Jacket\u201d and \u201cHomicide,\u201d \u00a0D\u2019Onofrio will play Wilson Fisk, a powerful businessman whose interests in the future of Hell\u2019s Kitchen will bring him into conflict with the blind attorney Matt Murdock and his alter ego Daredevil.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

D\u2019Onofrio joins Charlie Cox,\u00a0previously announced as Matt Murdock<\/a>, in the exciting cast of\u00a0\u201cMarvel\u2019s Daredevil.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re incredibly proud to have an actor with the gravitas and versatility of Vincent joining ‘Marvel\u2019s Daredevil’\u00a0in such an integral role,\u201d said Jeph Loeb, Marvel\u2019s Head of Television. \u201cWilson Fisk is an iconic villain whose cunning and power make him the dangerous equal of our hero.”<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cMarvel\u2019s Daredevil\u201d\u00a0follows the journey of Matt Murdock, who was blinded as a young boy but imbued with extraordinary senses, now fighting against injustice by day as a lawyer, and by night as the super hero Daredevil in modern day Hell’s Kitchen, New York City.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Marvel\u2019s first original series on Netflix is Executive Produced by series Showrunner Steven S. DeKnight (\u201cSpartacus\u201d, \u201cBuffy: The Vampire Slayer\u201d, \u201cAngel\u201d) and Drew Goddard (“Cabin in the Woods,” “Lost,” “Buffy The Vampire Slayer,” in addition to writing the first two episodes of \u201cMarvel\u2019s Daredevil\u201d), along with Marvel TV\u2019s Jeph Loeb (\u201cMarvel\u2019s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,\u201d \u201cSmallville,\u201d \u201cHeroes\u201d).<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n
